Portraits of Luís Lucas, Manuel Reis and Olga Roriz
In 1983, I bought a ZX Spectrum computer. Although I had already experimented with video and feedback-generated images, I consider this series to be my first true venture into digital art.
After capturing video images of some friends of the time, I selected a frame and fed it into the Spectrum, which digitised it in a rather singular way. I then printed these portraits on paper. The rapid obsolescence of computers, floppy disks and storage media caused much of this work to disappear. Only six portraits survive.
