| | AHETA Head-office for the Association of Hotels and Tourist Development at Albufeira, Algarve
Built to lodge the offices of the most important touristic entrepreneurs association from Algarve, the Aheta building, with its shell form, symbolizes the main activity of the region which is known for its beaches, sea food and seashore entertainment.
Made out of concrete and steel it is entirely finished with a coat of polyester resin similar to those used in modern boat construction.
The dynamics of its facade is reinforced by several motorized lid tops that can be operated by the users of the office booths. This interaction is encouraged as some of these offices are not provided with windows and sunlight. Hence, in order to get day light the lids must be opened resulting in constant changes of the building shape.
